Fey 7″ Series: Limited edition records to benefit the aspiring young musicians of Haiti

Common Cloud is proud to team up with The Carrefour Collaborative to release a series of limited edition 7″ splits to benefit aspiring Haitian musicians who’s passions and dreams have been put on hold due to the devastating effects of the massive earthquake. Paul Karner of Ragged Claws (and most recently joined by bandmate Kimberly) has spent many summers in Haiti involved with these young muscians, teaching at music schools in Port Au Prince (epicenter of the disaster) and Jacmel. Holy Trinity School of Music in Port Au Prince sustained massive damage, as well as destruction of musical instruments necessary in the education of these students. Every penny from the first installment of these records will go directly to the purchasing and procuring of instruments to replace those that were damaged when the school’s building collapsed. By purchasing one of these records, you are affirming the belief that music can indeed improve lives, and its healing and empowering qualities are needed now more than ever before.

Series One features Ragged Claws and Mike Noyce (of Bon Iver.) Included with each 7″ split is a limited-edition, hand screened art print created by one of several artists from across the country that are involved in the project.

Pre-sale starts today for just $10. Limited run of 300 copies, so act quick.

Visit the Fey 7″ project website to learn more and to claim your copy of Series One.

Fortunately for you, Ohtis has made this very album available as a FREE download along with 27 rare demos and b-sides! Snag it from their website, ohtis.com…seriously, download it right now. “Sister Suvi are a collaborative trio, three different but equal partners who just found a repertoire that set them all on fire. And they sound like they’re just getting started.”

Chris Dahlen’s review of Sister Suvi’s “Now I Am Champion” couldn’t have been more spot on if we penned it ourselves. Head over to Pitchfork and read it for yourselves!
